Merlin’s Wish Foundation is a children’s charity that exists to grant wishes for children suffering from terminal and serious illnesses.

It is not uncommon for charities to make use of underwritten skill and judgement competitions to promote fundraising. To our knowledge though, this is the first time a charity has joined with an underwriter, a marketing consultancy and an advertising agency to launch -

A constantly renewing, multi prize sales promotion which can be used as a purchase reward by online promoters free of charge and by offline promoters virtually free of charge.

The promotion, as detailed below, results from in-depth consumer research and is ideal for use where costs are a particularly sensitive issue.

The Promotion

One of the most popular consumer promotions today is "lowest unique bid" or "reverse auctions", where the lowest final bid wins the prize on offer. We have been running these auctions for many months with great success. Our existing programme can be seen by clicking 'auctions' in the main navigation bar above.

We feature a top prize of £25,000 in cash, a £20,000 fully loaded Mini Cooper and 8 other super prizes. As any prize is awarded we replace it with another, so there are always 10 on offer.

Online Promoters

We are giving away 5 free bids to all customers of selected online merchants as part of completely free sales promotions. We make no charge to promoting websites or their customers.

In addition, we actually help customers to win by informing them of the status of every bid they place, whether its too high, too low, the lowest but not unique or the lowest unique bid.

By giving away 5 free auction bids, it is our experience that a significant percentage of people return of their own accord to purchase further bids at normal prices, either to win a prize or support our work. This is the only way we receive funds.

Offline Promoters

We supply printed vouchers in booklet form to offline merchants for their promotional use. Each booklet contains 50 vouchers and each voucher entitles its holder to place 10 free bids which normally cost £9.99 click here to sample voucher.

Voucher booklets are supplied to offline merchants for award to customers at £150.00 each which is just £3.00 per voucher (a saving of £6.99).

Voucher holders simply visit www.wishfoundation.org.uk insert their voucher code where indicated, register and place their bids, it’s that simple.

We also provide printable high resolution artwork for A4 leaflets and A3 display posters.

A low cost sales promotion offering customers the completely free opportunity of winning one or more major prizes and at the same time supporting the work of a national children’s charity is both generous, warm and conveys a feeling of trust for the merchant concerned.
